a treasurer of a local church arrested and charged with theft no-billed January 25, 2018

The Law Office of Michael J Crawford represents a local treasurer of a church on the east side of Corsicana.  The dispute begins over chairs and the use of the building as I file a civil lawsuit against the other party on behalf of the pastor and the treasurer.  In response to the civil suit a criminal charge is levied against my client the treasurer of the church for theft and he is arrested, photographed, fingerprinted, and thrown in a cell.  I bonded him out of jail and started our defense.  Along with the help of Amanda Atkeisson and Cedric Johnson a packet is put together regarding the treasurers history and given to the District Attorney to share with the grand juror members.  On Thursday, January 25, 2018 the news came that our client, the treasurer, is no-billed (all charged dismissed) by the grand jury and case is closed.

Amanda Atkeisson, paralegal to Michael J Crawford, achieves certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Criminal Law in 2017.  This certification is held by only ten individuals in the State of Texas.  "I'm so proud of Amanda and her accomplishment, she is the best of the best, and I'm fortunate to have her on my team."  Congratulations Amanda.  Good Job.

After a grueling month of work in October Attorney Crawford received a break from jury trial work today. Crawford had two trials set in the Navarro County Court at Law this week; however, due to other cases being older and ahead Crawford received passes for his two clients. Instead of trial work Crawford is hard at work in the office. Preparing for upcoming trials and hearings as well as talking to clients and having consultations with prospective clients. If you or a loved one, friend, or neighbor need legal help please don't hesitate to contact us here at The Law Office of Michael J. Crawford. The month of October 2013 resulted in three (3) not guilty charges being found in felony jury trials in Navarro County. Two (2) of the not guilty verdicts were on super aggravated first degree felony counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child which carry a maximum punishment of life in prison without parole. Crawford thanks his staff of Amanda Atkeisson, Elizabeth Lasiter, Nesha Bryant, and Eddie Serna for all their hard work and we hope to continue to over achieve for our clients. God Bless. And here's to a Great month of November 2013 ... "Cheers"
